This beauty brand is selling a $24 ‘pamaypay’ to set your makeup

A post shared by Makeup Artist Patrick Ta (@patrickta)

We can see why the likes of Gigi Hadid, Shay Mitchell, and Olivia Munn loves makeup artist Patrick Ta. His trademark bold, “glowy” looks are on another level. But we bet they love him for his wit too.

In case you haven’t heard, Patrick just launched his makeup brand focused on glow. Sure, the lip shine and highlighting mist caught our eye. But there’s one item in the collection we just can’t ignore: the “Major Glow setting fan.” To us Filipinos, it’s called pamaypay—yes, you read that right.  “I designed this custom fan to be flexible so it’s easy to bend and shape to the face. I use this fan for almost every client, I can’t live without it,” he said on his site.

Did we mention it’s worth $24? With the current conversion rate, that amounts to P1,215. Yup, that much for a pamaypay. You know, just normal #extra people things. Even Patrick Starrr saw the humor in it.

Seeing as Patrick’s parents are from Vietnam, we definitely see where that idea came from. Especially in this season, we’re sure you’ll get the most bang out for your buck from the fan out of the whole collection. Or, you know, maybe just buy one from Quiapo or Divisoria. You’ll probably find one that’s worth P50 or less.
