Model Winnie Harlow served up some charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent for MAC Viva Glam’s 25th anniversary campaign. If you got that Drag Race reference, then you know she recreated RuPaul’s 1994 photo shoot.
RuPaul is the very first Viva Glam ambassador. For the campaign, he dressed up in a red leather ensemble and posed to spell out “Viva Glam.” His long legs in the photo were no joke.
Winnie, on the other hand, wore the same outfit for Halloween and was asked to wear it again for a Viva Glam shoot. Shantay, you slay!
She is the first model with vitiligo to front this campaign. She also got that recognition when she walked her first Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last year.
MAC Viva Glam is an initiative supporting multiple HIV/AIDS organizations through lip products. 100 percent of the proceeds go to charity. In the past, they’ve recruited Sia, Ariana Grande, Chloë Sevigny, and Dita Von Teese.
What do you think of Winnie’s homage to RuPaul? Can you recreate it too?
