Hold up, where did this Prince William cheating scandal even come from?

Rumors that Duke of Cambridge, Prince William cheated on his wife, Kate Middleton, have been making rounds on social media. Based on the many tweets we’ve seen, William allegedly pulled a Tristan Thompson (some would say Prince Charles) and got with Kate’s former friend, Rose Hanbury.

But where did this news even come from? Apparently, this cheating rumor has been going on since March.

Lainey Gossip was one of the first people to investigate the matter on social media. Earlier this year, Kate and Rose had a massive falling out, with the latter reportedly being banished from their circle of royal friends. Giles Coren, a member of the British media, later “confirmed” in a now-deleted tweet that it’s because of an affair that, he claims, “everyone knows about.”

Although, Lainey Gossip noted he likes stirring controversy for attention, sort of like Piers Morgan. (He wrote about the Beckhams breaking up.) We’d advise not to take Giles’ tweet too seriously, but the rumor mill has already started on Twitter.

If you look at the tweets above, several royal fans are pissed at William, even comparing him to Jay-Z, who cheated on Beyoncé with “Becky with the good hair.” However, the cheating scandal was never confirmed by anyone else—Kensington Palace hasn’t released a statement, and Rose Hanbury’s party has been mum as well.

Refinery29 also reported that William and Kate are scheduled to go on a trip next week. Possibly to celebrate their eight-year anniversary together. So, who knows? Maybe their marriage isn’t on the rocks…yet.
