Song-Song couple, aka Descendants of the Sun stars and real-life partners Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki, have filed for divorce. This came as a collective shock for their fanbase, who are now posting photos of the couple while expressing their sadness.
The question on a lot of fans’ minds is “What happened?” According to Song Hye Kyo’s label, UAA Korea, “personality differences” caused the marriage to fail. “The two ultimately came to this decision as they were unfortunately unable to overcome their differences,” UAA Korea said in a statement.
Likewise, Song Joong Ki’s label, Blossom Entertainment, also released a statement of apology. It said that the couple is undergoing divorce procedures after a serious discussion. They assured that it was an “amicable settlement.” This was echoed by Song Joong Ki in another statement, saying both of them are hoping “the divorce process can be wrapped up smoothly.”
The two met on the set of Descendants of the Sun in 2016 and became a couple while working together. They tied the knot in Oct. 2017 at the Shila Hotel in Seoul.

We understand that fans might want more details. But Song Joong Ki has asked not to divulge any more details of his personal life. “I want to try to recover from the wounds and do my best to repay you through good production as an actor,” he said.
