Keeping up with K-pop should be an Olympic sport. Just this month, we’ve been bombarded with exciting news on our fave groups. Worried that you might have missed something? We’ve got you covered with this handy list.

Every member gets their own Twicetagram

It’s the era of third generation K-pop group members opening their long-awaited personal Instagram accounts. BTS opened theirs last December and as of April, all the members of Seventeen finally have their own accounts. Today (mark the date, it’s May 17), it’s Twice’s turn.

And just like any group, there’s that one member that stands out as the most adept (and most likely to have been lurking using a private Instagram). In Twice’s case, it seems to be main rapper Chaeyoung—her promising feed already shows a bit of her visual creativity—but that doesn’t mean that we won’t be checking all their pages like the morning newspaper. Congratulations are also in order since the group has just wrapped up their first-ever US stadium shows.

The Girls are back

After five years of waiting (an eternity in K-pop), we’re finally getting a Girls’ Generation comeback. SM Entertainment announced today that all eight current members will return for the release of a new album in August.

Apart from new music, appearances in TV programs and the launch of Girls’ Generation’s own reality show will mark their 15th anniversary since their 2007 debut. We finally have something new to talk about after beef speculations from former member Jessica’s latest book “Shine.” In the meantime, stream Hyo’s new mini-album “Deep.”

GOT7 is returning with a concept that has us saying, “Werk!”

Yes, GOT7 is back with new music post-JYP Entertainment. Turns out we didn’t have to get so emo when they departed from their old company in 2021 because their comeback was pretty swift. On May 6, the group launched their new social media accounts ahead of their a and mini-album release.

We got the first set of concept photos for the EP “GOT7” on May 14 where the members made construction work clothes look sexy as heck. The concept photos that followed were equally gorgeous. Thank you for continuing to serve, GOT7.

Red Velvet in Manila for a cause

Red Velvet will return to Manila, and this time it’s for a benefit concert. The concert titled “BE YOU: The World Will Adjust” was organized in celebration of People with Special Needs. Among those joining Red Velvet are BGYO, BINI, and cover dancer Lady Pipay.

This is not a drill!
IPITI proudly presents "BE YOU" The World Will Adjust An extraordinary celebration for People with Special Needs. Join us on 7/22 at 7PM, SM Mall of Asia Arena with our special guests, @RVsmtown @bgyo_ph @BINI_ph @realladypipay and many more. #YestoInclusion pic.twitter.com/MfkGcpMexT

Reveluvs still have time to save up: The concert will happen on July 22 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, with ticket details yet to be announced. But be sure to remember the main focus of the event is the fight for inclusion.

NCT Dream and Shinee’s Key in one concert, need we say more?

Local SM stans, did you ever predict this would happen? In “Begin Again: KPOP Edition,” we’re going to see NCT Dream, Key, Alice (formerly known as Elris), and rookie group WEi in a live show together. It’s a steal if we ever saw one.

We can't thank you enough for sticking with us & waiting.

It's our pleasure to announce, "Begin Again: KPOP Edition"ㅡa live concert w/ NCT DREAM, KEY, WEi, & ALICE.

Hope you join us as we journey towards a new beginning for live shows💗

The concert is set to happen on May 29 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Tickets are still available for those who just found out that they’re already selling. You’re welcome.

Can Seventeen and Epik High please visit us, too?

Other K-pop acts touring this year and have yet to announce their entire list of cities to visit are Seventeen and Epik High. Seventeen announced today that they’re finally doing another world tour called “Be the Sun” and this will include an Asia arena tour, according to Pledis Entertainment. The group’s last tour stop before the lockdowns was Manila so we’re definitely hoping we’ll be on the tour list. While waiting, we’ll be streaming their upcoming album “Face the Sun” on May 27.

On the other hand, Epik High is doing an Asia-Pacific tour which starts in July. If we squint at the blurred-out details on the poster real hard, we think we can make out Manila. Please, we’d love to sing along to the “Epik High Is Here” albums.
