Powerhouse K-pop girl group Apink debuted back in 2011 which means that their latest comeback marks their ninth year in the industry. Feeling old yet? Well, that’s not the case for the group’s seven members who shared in a recent Naver interview that they, along with their fans, still have a lot to get excited about.
“I always feel like this, but time goes by too quickly. This year is our ninth anniversary and we’ve been together for ten years now, but our ambition and hunger toward our music is the same as when we made our debut. Just as we built up a precious discography, we built up many precious memories with each other and with our fans, so I’m happy,” says group leader Chorong. Apink maintains a strong fanbase even after their major concept change back in 2019. They switched their “pure and innocent” concept with a sexier one for the strong track “Eung Eung.”

If you prefer their more mature sound, you’re going to enjoy their ninth mini-album “LOOK” which features dance track “Dumhdurum.” The music video is a sartorial smorgasbord with colorful and kitschy vintage backdrops that are a bit reminiscent of Wes Anderson movie sets. The synth-heavy song is sure to be a hit with anyone who’s looking to groove to something new.
Maknae Hayoung shared her thoughts on their new album: “Although we work hard for every album, I think we put a lot more effort into this album than usual. We were ambitious to show an even better side of ourselves, so I hope that people feel it is something new and refreshing.”
Although Apink’s members have branched out into solo music careers and started acting careers, they are still loyal to the group and to their Pink Pandas. So, what’s your favorite from “LOOK”?
