Netflix, in celebration of Independence Day, is going to start streaming award- winning films such as “Pamilya Ordinaryo” and “Sunod” in “Fiesta Sa Netflix” this June.
“Pamilya Ordinaryo” won multiple awards, including Best Picture, in the 2016 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival. It shows the story of two teenage lovers trying to make ends meet through pick pocketing and other extreme measures to find their one-month-old kidnapped child.
Speaking of parenthood, another movie picked up by the streaming giant is the 2019 Metro Manila Film Festival horror film “Sunod.” Winning multiple visual awards, it tells the story of a mother discovering the dark secrets behind their office building as she tries to make some money for her sick daughter’s hospital bills.
Although there isn’t a release date for “Pamily Ordinaryo” yet, we can be sure to expect it within the month or around the time “Sunod” will be released (which is on Jun. 14). Other local films you can expect to find in Netflix this June are “Lola Igna,” “Unture” and “Pinoy Sunday.”
