QUIZ: Which Filipina heroine are you most like?
Maria Lorena Barros

Founder of Malayang Kilusan ng Bagong Kababaihan, Maria Lorena Barros was a militant activist and guerrilla fighter during the Marcos era. A former member of the UP Anthropology Society and the UP Writer's Club, she was creative and committed to learning about Philippine society. Just like Barros, you are a poet for the emancipation of women. Although you have the air of a poised social butterfly, you will (literally) not go down without a fight in the face of adversity. You know how to have fun and when to get serious.
Carmen Rosales

Carmen Rosales is regarded by many as the original superstar of Philippine movies. A little known fact about the actress is that she was also a World War II guerilla fighter. Aside from her acting chops, Rosales also had a sweet voice. The multi-talented star reached commercial success and garnered a wide fan base before the war. Maybe you’ve been compared to Angel Locsin by your friends in the past. You have that star power and a strong sense of nationalism. Similar to Rosales, you will fight for the person you love. You’re also an eagle-eyed master of disguise.
Captain Nieves Fernandez

Schoolteacher Nieves Fernandez is the only known female Filipino guerrilla leader. She is known for her talent in making improvised weaponry and extensively training her troops. Fernandez once commanded 110 natives in defeating 200 Japanese with shotguns made from sections of gas pipe. Like her, you lead from the front. You are innovative and efficient. You sometimes come off as intimidating. In truth, you're just a sweetheart who takes a bit off time to warm up to others.
Teresa Magbanua

Teresa Magbanua is called the “Visayan Joan of Arc." She was a schoolteacher who joined the Panay arm of the Katipunan and is credited as the only woman to lead its troops in Visayas. She is one of the only few Filipino revolutionaries who fought in all three resistances against the Spaniard, American, and Japanese forces. Like her, you are dynamic and restless but not afraid to dedicate your time to something you believe in. You are dependable and your friends appreciate you words of advice.
Josefa Llanes Escoda

An advocate of women's suffrage and the founder of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines, Josefa Llanes Escoda is one of the country’s most prominent civic leaders. She was also a teacher and social worker for the Philippine Chapter of the American Red Cross. She partook in underground activities such as providing supplies and relaying messages to Filipino war prisoners during World War II. Like Escoda, you like participating in community affairs and probably believe in healthcare for all. You are fierce and caring. You are the ride or die type of friend who's also a shoulder to cry on.
Urduja

Urduja is a legendary Muslim warrior princess. She was quoted by Muslim scholar Ibn Battuta as saying that she will marry no one but him who defeats her in a duel. She is believed to know multiple dialects. She was also described as smart and kind-hearted. Like Urduja, you are ambitious and admired for it. You are generous and you love to travel. You love treating your friends and loved ones with the best goodies.
