The new poster for ‘Pearl Next Door’ is satiating my GL fix

With Filipino Boy’s Love (BL) series “Gameboys” coming to a close soon (thankfully, we’re getting three more episodes), it’s our girl Pearl’s time to take center stage. On June 19, The IdeaFirst Company announced that Pearl, to be reprised by Adrianna So, is getting her own Girl’s Love (GL) series. Nearly a month after, we are finally treated with more details on the upcoming show. Sapphics, rejoice!

On Aug. 6, IdeaFirst revealed the official poster for “Pearl Next Door.” Apart from wide-eyed Pearl with her memorable smile, we got a peek at four characters who will be accompanying our gal on her own quest “to find love.” Actress slash producer (and the daughter of Angel Aquino) Iana Bernardez is looking kinda spicy in an off-shoulder. Actor and musician Rachel Coates with her pink hair and a specs-and-sweater combo is looking super cute. Could they be Pearl’s love interests?

Of course, we’re basing this guess off of So’s tweet calling the series a GL after a fan asked her whether she would ever consider starring in a WLW show. Anyway, this isn’t the first time that the actress has played a character crushing on a girl. “Distance” and “I AM U” are waving hello to fans who have yet to watch her outside of “Gameboys.”

But with Pearl being Gav’s ex-girlfriend turned best friend, it’s still possible that we’ll be seeing romance blossom between Pearl and one of the guys. Will it be with Cedrick Juan’s (“Kalel, 15” and “Gitarista”) character who’s sporting long locks? Or could it be Phillip Hernandez’s who looks like he would match Pearl’s energy?

No word on the release date yet but we can’t wait to find out.
