Do I wanna be like Sasha Luss or be WITH her?

On this episode of “Team Preen thirsts over women,” our senior designer Dana recently watched the 2019 film “Anna” on Netflix and admitted that she might’ve already fallen in love within its first few minutes. Maybe not so much with the movie but with its star model slash actor Alexandra “Sasha” Luss.

The film opens with Anna, a beautiful young Russian girl played by Sasha, selling matryoshka dolls on the street. She’s secretly an undercover agent pretending to be a fashion model—very badass, also more than just a lil bit gay. (Anna has a girlfriend!)

In a desperate attempt to escape the life of crime that stemmed from years of trauma, Anna agreed to become a KGB assassin but was trapped in the organization for life. Throughout the film, Anna showcases her intelligence in strategic games of chess, her mastery of martial arts and firearms and proficiency in multiple languages—she speaks French, English and her real-life mother tongue Russian. The movie features a lot of plot twists and action-packed scenes where we get to see Sasha as a new kickass baddie in the film industry.

A little more on the actress: Sasha started out as a fashion model before becoming an actress and “Anna” is her first-ever film as the lead actor. The 28-year-old Russian model’s first film appearance was a supporting role as Princess Lihö-Minaa in the 2017 fantasy flick “Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.” And, most importantly, according to Dana, she has “dazzling blue eyes.”

Our lovesick designer also explained how Sasha owned multiple hairstyles in “Anna.” “She had different looks on the film—a dark short black wig, red hair, you name it. There’s even one scene where she went full-on bald, but damn she looked so good in every single look. I was swept off of my feet.”

Anna’s different looks in the film—as told by Dana Calvo

Okay I am rocking this hair right now, I have a red lipstick, so I think I might be doing this look for Halloween this year (of course, at home).
I think this is my favorite look of her. Please step on me.
This is her girlfriend in the film, I’m highkey jealous OK (It really hurts).
Ma’am, I am on my knees.
I’ll buy every matryoshka doll, thanks.

Like all queer gals before her, Dana can’t decide whether she wants to be like Sasha or be with her. (Case in point: Dana highkey wants to bleach her hair and color it silver just like Sasha’s.)

“She carries herself so well. If you haven’t watched this film, you are totally missing out. She is a very hot action star. I don’t know if I like her or I wanna be like her. After watching the movie, I immediately searched for her and followed her on Instagram and scrolled nonstop. *laughs* Speaking of Instagram, I saw on her profile that she posted a ‘Friends’ video clip which I couldn’t be happier about. IT MEANS WE WATCH THE SAME SERIES,” she gushed.

As a pansexual, Dana shared she was attracted to Sasha not because of her role in the movie, but for her “effortless beauty.”

“I am attracted to Sasha not just because of the movie ‘Anna’ but also because she’s like a very laid back, effortless beauty irl (based on her IG), and I love her sense of style. For my type sa girls, I usually like the ones that are not too girly *laughs* like the boy-ish type of girls ganun,” she shared.

“I am not sure if she’s gay irl, but she is definitely a badass gay icon in the film,” Dana said. “Sasha, if you’re reading this, please notice me.”
