BTS has given us a ton of free content. From mixtapes to Korean language classes, the group has spoiled ARMYs with diverse content that makes the stanning experience more fun. And their latest gift? A free font called Connect, BTS.
On Mar. 29, the group posted a link to the free font download and an accompanying free e-book that gives a more in-depth look at the project that the font is named after.
“Connect, BTS is a global contemporary art project that began in London in January 2020 and connected the world through the participation of 22 artists in five countries, dedicated curators and art-appreciating visitors,” BTS wrote in the introduction. “It’s the belief that our diversity can create a world where differences do not render us apart but ‘connect’ us together through our uniqueness. We hope that you can be a part of Connect, BTS through this shared belief, and we hope that there is true inspiration awaiting our discovery.”

각자의 다양성들이 서로 '연결'된 세상을 만들어나갈 수 있다는 믿음.
It's the belief that diversity can create a world where differences 'CONNECT' us together through our uniqueness.

It comes as no surprise that the group’s members want to include their fans in the global art movement since they’ve done it for similar initiatives such as their Love Myself anti-violence campaign with UNICEF.
Apart from getting a font that looks great paired with a contemporary visual piece, fans will also enjoy reading through the e-book that acts as a primer for the project. It contains essays from the project’s curators Lee Daehyung and Hans Ulrich Obrist as well as essays from art critics that talk about the pieces created by participating artists based in London, Berlin, Buenos Aires, New York and Seoul. You can find photos of the works, which include installations and performances, as well.
In the latter part of the book, there are pages with photos of BTS taken at one of the Connect, BTS exhibits and their signatures. It definitely serves as a collectible for dedicated fans.
It’s a refreshing project that is borne out of love for art and craftsmanship. We’re excited to see what other works ARMYs can create with the help of the free font.
