Ben Affleck, it’s time to delete the dating app

The internet is a wild place. The latest viral TikTok that surprised us (and made us feel a twinge of secondhand embarrassment) features Ben Affleck, believe it or not. TBH, it feels a bit like a sign for him to pursue a partner closer to his age.

After splitting up with “Knives Out” hottie Ana de Armas in January (you might have seen the photo of a de Armas cutout in Affleck’s trash bin), 48-year-old Ben Affleck might be back in the dating scene. We found out about this because an actress named Nivine Jay posted a TikTok today containing a video she claims Affleck sent her via Instagram DMs.

The TikTok opens with the text, “Thinking of the time I matched with Ben Affleck on Raya and thought it was fake so I unmatched him and he sent me a video on Instagram ☠️☠️☠️☠️”

What follows is a clip of Affleck saying, “Nivine, why did you unmatch me? It’s me.” Jay simply captioned the post, “Sorry, Ben.” It’s unclear when the exchange took place but it seems pretty legit. There have been reports of him using Raya since 2019

ICYDK, Raya is a private, elite, members-only app for dating and networking with a tough application process. Some of the other celebrities who have reportedly been spotted on it are Cara Delevigne, Channing Tatum and John Mayer. So it would be no surprise if Affleck expected that Jay would keep their interaction hush-hush.

“Lol damn, she didn’t have to put his business out there like that. Ironically, recognizable names use that dating app to have privacy to avoid the very thing that happened,” said GQ Magazine insider CJ Johnson about the TikTok. “She violated one of the main rules of using the app.”

While some criticized Jay for “trying to embarrass” Affleck for clout, others commented that Affleck shouldn’t have looked for Jay outside Raya when she unmatched him out of respect for her boundaries.

What did you think about the TikTok?
