For the less adventurous, Halloween is the perfect excuse to bust out the makeup products we usually wouldn’t wear on a daily basis. Those out-there shades and specialty formulas go well with a costume or for a makeup transformation into your favorite character.
If you’re gearing up for the slew of Halloween parties this weekend and in need of some cosmetic reinforcements to your costume, here are a few products you can pick up to get you on-theme.
MAC Metallic Lipstick in Rose Dipped
Warning: This is not your usual glittery lip. This lipstick is made of chunky particles that when built up gives an opaque color that makes you look like you ate glitter for lunch. It’s useful when you want to complete a bright fairy look. Available at SM Megamall.
NARS Audacious Mascara in Park City
This NARS mascara has a great effect as the purple shifts and pops depending on the light. Despite the shocking color, it comes off easily like a regular mascara without staining your lashes. Make sure though to use a setting spray especially if you plan to go partying as I find it’s not smudge-proof. Available at Bonifacio Central Square.
Kat Von D Metal Crush Eyeshadow in Paranoid
If you want to pull of a multi-eyeshadow look like Harley Quinn, you can use this bright blue one from Kat Von D. The shadows are opaque and look punchier when wet. They are also crease-proof plus vegan-friendly too. Available via SephoraPH.
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Turquoise
Experimenting with color is one thing that can turn your regular makeup look into something Halloween appropriate. Switch out your normal eyeliner for something in turquoise for a pop of color to go with a mermaid inspired look. Available at Rustan’s The Beauty Source.
Wet N Wild ColorIcon Rainbow Highlighter
Seeing how unicorns became a major theme for makeup companies this year, we won’t be surprised if you want to pull off a look based on the magical creature. For this, don’t forget it’s not complete without a rainbow highlighter that will leave multiple streaks of color on your cheek instead of the usual glow. Available online.
