In an Instagram stories post, vlogger Michelle Dy addressed how she’s being criticized for just about everything, even her use of filter, lighting, camera, and editing. She also said “Problemahin niyo yong mga blackheads at pimples niyo mga besh, wag yong picture ko. Lahat na lang!” (Why don’t you worry about your blackheads and pimples, instead of my pictures?). She also urged her critics to watch her video later “para makita ninyo papano maging ganon kafresh. Okay?” (So you can see how to be fresh too, okay?)
The post has since garnered backlash, with netizens condemning her for what they deem as a brash statement from an influencer, and even urging her sponsors to discontinue their affiliation with her, pointing out that her skin and acne shaming is unbecoming of someone who has a teenage demographic.
not everyone can afford belo or what products you are using just to have clear skin. EVERYONE HAS A FLAWS, fyi #MichelleDy

I don’t understand why would you say something like this. You are a public figure. You should be showing and saying positive and uplifting words and actions not some degrading comments like this. #MichelleDyIsOverParty #MichelleDy pic.twitter.com/H7WgUmUePz

This is not the first time Michelle Dy has been called out. Aside from promoting whitening, another video of hers reportedly also ridiculed people with dark armpits.
