Singer-actress Kyline Alcantara may be popular for her songs and as this generation’s “La Nueva Kontrabida” (directly translates to “The New Villainess”), fans also look up to her for her beauty and fashion. She first caught my attention when I saw J.Cat post a video of her doing her makeup in one of their stores, just days before her birthday concert. But a quick scroll through her Instagram also shows that she’s into unique hairstyles using various hair rings.
This hair accessory looks like an earring and it’s usually used to spruce up braids. They’re also common decorations for dreadlocks—example: Jaden Smith being extra with $5,000 worth of Cartier love rings in his hair. And just like jewelry, they come in different colors, materials, and a lot of them have dangling charms too.

The first of Kyline’s hairstyles we’ll talk about is this simple side sweep with regular-sized hair rings attached to tiny braids. We don’t know about you but this particular style gives off a ’90s vibe.
We see more rings on her curly hair extensions for her Beyoncé-inspired look during GMA’s Sunday Pinasaya. Look very closely at the photo below and you’ll see a few.

If you want to ease into the trend slowly, you can start with regular rings in gold or silver. Watch hair tutorials as well so you’ll know how to properly put them on.
Remember when we mentioned dangling charms? Here’s Kyline sporting heart-shaped ones:

These tiny rings were a good touch for the twist-braids she had on with her high ponytail. If hearts aren’t your thing though, you can find others with stars and feathers. You’ll also be summer music festival-ready as early as now.
How are you liking this accessory so far? We’d love to see your looks once you get the hang of hair rings.
While you’re at it, we’ll figure out how Kyline’s hairstylist did this keychain trick with her extensions.
