Weekend events

PSA: The long weekend starts today! Yup, Monday is a holiday and we are rejoicing. Rest is definitely on my mind, but I want to head out as well. I’ve been hiding in my shell for a few weeks and I am looking to spread my social butterfly wings for the next few days. There are always so many events happening on a regular basis, and this weekend is also very busy. From art to music, and even theater, I gathered some happenings you might be interested in checking out.

Art Fair 2019

Art Fair 2019 starts today! I hope you were able to grab your tickets early, because it’s going to be packed. We got a sneak peek yesterday and there is a little bit of everything for everyone. If you want to know about some of the female artists, check this story. Located at  The Link, Ayala Center, Makati City.

The Big Bad Wolf Book Sale also starts today and will run until March 4. But, since it’s a long weekend, why not try making your way there in the next few days? I might do this myself and look for books that have been sold out everywhere I’ve looked. My plan is to go at an odd hour so that there aren’t much people. Does 3 a.m. sound like a good time? Located at World Trade Center, Pasay Extension corner Sen. Gil J. Puyat Avenue, Pasay City.

Tusok Tusok x Pineapple Lab @nocentjokes Ilona Fiddy will be joining us again for Fringe2019. She will be tattooing for a week and taking custom design and flash art clients for Hand Poked Tattoos. She's fully booked but contact but do contact her directly to be added via waitlisted. Tusok-Tusok: Hand Poked tattoos by Ilona Fiddy February 22-28, 2019 Focusing on tattoo in the past few years, and with decade of experience in multidisciplinary art & design, Ilona's past work has explored themes of identity, isolation & strength in community, of othering and perpetual occupation of liminal spaces. In her tattoo practice especially, she is protective of the indistinct borders between cultural appreciation and appropriation. Her work likes to consider what is sacred, to oneself and to another. Tattoos by hand is not a trend, it is an ancient and loving act, a conduit of ancestry and personal narrative. #Fringe2019
