Planning an outfit can be stressful. Add the pressure of a job interview and it’s a whole other challenge. We’ve given you a list of essentials to bring with you and even some tips from our HR department, now let’s help you get dressed for the big day. Whether the employers gave you a dress code or not, I think it is best to dress in work-appropriate attire just so to be safe. I gave different options for bottoms and shoes that you won’t mind wearing for hours. However, don’t forget to add your own flair so that your personality till shines through. These pieces are merely building blocks or a guide to get you started.
Bagstationz Lightweight Nylon Laptop Bag
For copies of your resume and other files, carry a big enough bag. This one can also fit your laptop just in case you need to make some edits to your files or need to access other documents. To make things easier, use this as your handbag as well. Pack a powerbank, headphones, book, pens, and maybe even some snacks. Available on Zalora PH.
H&M Linen-blend Jacket
A blazer is always a go-to for job interviews. I’ve also been wearing these a lot too lately. If you’re going to be jumping from one job interview to another, make sure the one you get is comfortable. This is made of a linen-blend, which makes it breathable. Match the dark blue shade or complement it with light colors to balance it out. This might even give you the confidence you’ll need to ace your interview. Available at Uptown Mall.
Uniqlo EZY Tucked Ankle Pants
I have three pairs of these pants in different colors, so clearly they’re pretty perfect. They have a thick elastic at the back making it comfortable to sit in. It’s made of a blend material, which is wrinkle-resistant and super stretchy. It comes in so many colors so stock up for when you actually get the job. Available at SM Megamall.
Stradivarius Pleated Skirt
Work skirts don’t always have to be in the pencil cut. For something easier to move around in, try this pleated skirt that has buttons along the front. This also comes in black if you’re not feeling the salmon color. Dress this up with a long sleeve blouse and sensible shoes. Available at Glorietta 2.
Harlan + Holden Polo Float
To go with your trousers or skirt, pair it with this top. It has a trubenized collar, making it look more work-appropriate. It also comes in four colors, and I want them all. Take Tan France’s advice and style this with an easy French tuck. It will add some texture to your look but is still clean and polished. Available at Adora, Greenbelt 5.
Charles & Keith Classic Loafers
Props to you if you can walk around in heels all day, but I couldn’t even if I had to. Another option that is still appropriate are loafers. It has a square toe and subtle metallic hardware. With flats you can travel from one office building to another and even climb some stairs when needed. Available at Power Plant Mall.
Zalora Lapel Button Midi Dress
If a dress is more suited for your personality, this LBD might be the one. It is a wrap style and the top is more structured and has tuxedo elements like a lapel collar. Take it straight from the interview into your new office. Available on Zalora PH.
