‘90s girls, we know this is something you really, really want: A Spice Girls reunion with all five of them. Well now you can get your platform sandals and your old posters because it’s finally happening—at least, in the form of a movie.
Over 20 years after their cult film Spice World, the girls are back, this time, for an animated movie. Produced by Simon Fuller and written by Karen McCullah and Kirsten Smith, the film under Paramount Animation will star Mel B (Scary), Mel C (Sporty), Emma Bunton (Baby), Geri Halliwell (Ginger), and Victoria Beckham (Posh) as the voice of their counterparts. While it’s still in the early stages, Paramount Animation president Mireille Soria tells The Hollywood Reporter that all five girls are “very involved.” Mireille additionally revealed that the upcoming movie would feature the group’s classic hits as well as new songs. Release is reportedly slated for 2020.
Guess we know which playlist we’re listening to until next year.
