We have seen plenty of interesting outfits at the recent SONA. Senator Imee Marcos’ yellow and red gradient dress by Mak Tumang definitely garnered attention. She joked to reporters she is a “dilawan” for the day, referring to the label given to Aquino supporters. In a more serious note, she explained the message behind her fashion choice was “Move forward, magkaisa ulit.”
Clearly, Kris Aquino has something to say about Sen. Imee’s dress and statement too. When asked for a comment by a netizen, she replied, “If it’s a sincere gesture to reach out, acknowledge past sins and show remorse I shall meet them halfway. We can move forward but we can do that only by acknowledging the past.”
She added, “Sen. Imee has never heard from me about my childhood [and] I have never heard about her history as well. We should be open to a conversation to understand our lives. Fair enough?”
She also cleared that “Yellow isn’t LP. Yellow comes from TIE A YELLOW RIBBON (the song) for my Dad.”
Do you think it’s actually possible for the two to move on from all the issues surrounding their families? Let us know in the comments section below.
