IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE SM STORE
Representation matters in the fashion world. We’ve seen men, women, and LGBTQ+ people take the forefront in the Philippines. But have you seen a fierce drag queen gracing several ads and billboards?
Now you will because The SM Store is introducing their newest ambassador: Aquaria!
You heard that right: The queen from New York City and winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 10 is the face of the department store’s latest campaign. She was well-known as the fashion queen who pushed boundaries on the show, serving both feminine and androgynous lewks every episode. After winning the title of “Drag Superstar,” she appeared in major global campaigns for Moschino and MAC Viva Glam, and even came out with a makeup line with NYX Cosmetics. She also made the covers of Vogue Italia, Gay Times, and Paper Magazine.
Not only that, she was also spotted walking the 2019 Met Gala (aka, Met Camp) pink carpet, becoming the first drag queen to attend the prestigious event. She even sat with VIPs at the Vogue table, including Anna Wintour herself.
For Aquaria’s first campaign in the Philippines, she’s styled with SM Shoes and Bags and SM Accessories to give her best interpretation of “SM Fashion Realness meets overly accessorized Fashion Queen.”
Of course, she made sure she stayed true to her brand, which is to turn looks and stunt pretty wherever she goes. Nothing but respect for our #kween.
If this news got you excited, wait ‘til you hear more updates on Aug. 12, 2019. Stay tuned and keep checking #AquariaAtSM on The SM Store’s Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook page, as well as Preen.ph’s social media platform.
Be ready, because Aquaria won’t keep you waiting. *winks*
