I Couldn’t Hold In My ‘OMG!’s When Watching ‘Avengers: Infinity War’

If you haven’t seen Avengers: Infinity War yet, what are you doing? Go book your tickets online now and bookmark this for later reading. But, if you have seen it, continue on because there are spoilers ahead. You have been warned.

After all the hype surrounding Marvel’s latest movie, it’s amazing to say that it definitely exceeded my expectations. And answered a few questions like, Why weren’t Ant-Man and Hawkeye in the trailers and posters? Turns out, they weren’t in the movie either. But we did find out where they were. Clint Barton has gone back into retirement while Scott Lang decided to sit out the battle. They both have families so the conflict put a strain on that, which is understandable. No need to worry, though, because we’ll be seeing Ant-Man again in July for Ant-Man and the Wasp (screams!).

Another great thing about the film was how they were able to seamlessly combine all the storylines together. Every time they would introduce another member of the Avengers, they would play the music from that film, which got me really excited.

I was also amazed by the chemistry the characters had  together whether or not they got along. We saw Doctor Strange and Iron Man clash a little due to their stubbornness, which was interesting to watch. And Star Lord trying to one-up Thor, which was so funny to watch. In the end, however, they all banned together in one epic fight scene.

Don’t even get me started on the CGI. From the creatures that attacked them on Wakanda to the planets they visited, and even the way Thanos looked were all so believable. I especially enjoyed the scenes where Bruce Banner was trying to turn into the Hulk but couldn’t fully transform.

Okay, now let’s talk about my least favorite part, the deaths. In the first 10 minutes of the movie Heimdall, Valkyrie, and Loki perish at the hands of Thanos all while Thor was tied up. Later on, Thanos sacrifices Gamora for the soul stone, this was honestly hard to watch. Fast forward to the end, Thanos is able to complete the stones and snaps his fingers, which triggers half of the population to turn to dust. Yes, they actually turned to dust. This included Scarlet Witch, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and even Nick Fury. They may have disappeared but what my boyfriend pointed out was that they were wiped out from existence and not necessarily killed so could we possibly see them again? I sure hope so.

Now, onto the end credit scene. After every Marvel movie, viewers look forward to this because it shows a continuation of the film as well as some foreshadowing. For Avengers: Infinity War’s end scene, it is set in New York just as people are starting to turn to dust. Maria Hill and Nick Fury are driving around and they notice that cars are stopping on the road and helicopters are crashing from the sky. When Nick finally senses the problem, he pulls out a communication device and tries to contact someone before he himself disappears. As the device falls to the ground we see the logo for Captain Marvel!

As the screen turned black I wanted more and I’m sure you all did too. But we’ll have to wait for the next Avengers film next year till we get more answers. Until then, excuse me while I book another set of tickets to the movie.
