How to Prepare for the Biggest Event of the Year: The Royal Wedding

The royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is just days away and we don’t know how to keep calm. Ever since they announced their engagement last year, we’ve been keeping an eye out for details about the ceremony. So far, we know about their wedding cake flavors, possible gown designers, the Queen’s wedding gift, and even what the invitations looked like.

We’re sure a lot of you are just as ecstatic as we are so we put together a list of tips to help you prepare for the big day. Don’t get too frazzled and watch the wedding like a queen.

Binge watch everything about the royal family

Meghan is just about to join the royal family but they already have a long history. Luckily, there are movies, documentaries, and TV shows to give you a history lesson. Some of the ones you can watch are The Crown, Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, and Elizabeth at 90: A Family Tribute.

Set your schedule

The ceremony starts at 12 n.n. London time (7 p.m. in the Philippines) but there are sure to be networks covering the event hours before. Other things to look forward to is seeing the guests arrived and what they’re wearing. I’m really curious to see who was invited. To help you out, CBS News will be having a live stream here so don’t miss out.

Plan your outfit

You might not have been invited to the ceremony but you can still feel like you’re there. Feel free to dress in something a little fancy like your best dress, especially if you’re going to a viewing party. If you’re planning to just watch it at home, we suggest throwing on a tea party hat or a fascinator.

Get your friends together

If you’re not the only one looking forward to the wedding, plan a viewing party for you and your friends. Get a guest list ready, set a dress code, and get your space ready. You can even put up some decorations like flowers. Don’t forget the food! Prepare something quick and easy like finger sandwiches and mini desserts.

Have your social media accounts ready

Once it starts, you probably won’t be able to contain your many emotions. To help you out, you can do live updates via social media. Not only will this help you let out your feelings but this will be a godsend to people who won’t be able to catch it on TV (aka me so help a sister out).
