Meet Catriona Gray: Singer, Painter, and Miss Universe Candidate

By Jacqueline Ariason March 19, 2018

From being Miss World Philippines 2016, Catriona Gray is now representing our country in this year’s Miss Universe pageant. Many people saw how she trained on The Road to Bb. Pilipinas 2018, where she was given constructive criticism by Mariel De Leon. But apart from being a beauty queen, you might also be curious about her other hobbies and projects.

We’re making it a little easier for you as we list down fun facts about Catriona. These include her love for music and art, her hosting stints, and her love for all things sweet.

She can sing

When Catriona visited the Preen.ph HQ, she told us that she’d rather focus on a music career than enter showbiz. “I feel like I’m way too tall to be in showbiz. I’m 5’10” so good luck finding me a leading man!” she said. If you want proof of her singing talent, watch her “Complete the Lyrics” video above.

She can also paint

Catriona put up her works in an exhibit for a cause last year. The proceeds went to the PARAISO: Bright Beginnings Project, which is a charity that helps a preschool in Smokey Mountain in Tondo, Manila. Now we want to see Catriona’s other works!

Loves sweets!

During our interview, Catriona hinted that she loves anything sweet when it comes to her coffee. While scrolling through her Instagram feed, we saw that her sweet tooth doesn’t stop there. She also loves halo-halo, smoothie bowls, ube ice cream—you get the picture.

She’s a bubbly host

If she’s not in pageants, Catriona is hosting on television or at events. Her most recent stint was at the Love Gala last December, which was an event for HIV/AIDS awareness.

Starred in several commercials

One YouTube user compiled all of Catriona’s TV commercials. These range from shampoo ads to funny snack ads. You might even remember some of them and say, “Oh, that was her!”

Started pageantry at five years old

A post shared by Catriona Gray (@catriona_gray) on May 2, 2016 at 2:51am PDT

In a throwback post, Catriona shared that she joined Little Miss Philippines when she was still in preschool. Who knew that she would later win Bb. Pilipinas-Universe 2018 several years later?
