After months of Darna hiatus, Liza Soberano gives an update as to how she’s training for the superhero role.
It’s simple and there are no shortcuts, she trains and works hard just like any other person who wants to achieve her goals. She posted photos of her sparring in the ring (very helpful for a fight scene), then a few rounds with workout ropes, and finally planks for those rock hard abs to be seen when she finally wears her costume.
“If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you,” Liza captioned her post along with the hashtag #DarnaTraining. Now we wonder how far along production is especially if she’s amping up her training in between shoots for her fantaserye Bagani.
Director Erik Matti also posted a teaser on Twitter last March. His post goes, “Shelved na Darna? Sino may sabi? Paano ‘to?” (Darna was shelved? Who said? What about this?) plus a photo of what looks like a script run-through. All these teasers make us want to see the big reveal!

For now, we’re cheering on Liza on her strenuous workout! Now excuse us as we do some squats.
