Moira Dela Torre has been chosen to sing the localized version of “Reflection” for the upcoming live-action “Mulan.”

Disney PH made the announcement on their Twitter account, saying that the song and music video will be out very soon. “Moira Dela Torre, a warrior in her own right and a true voice of her generation, has been chosen to sing her unique take on the beloved song ‘Reflection’ from Disney’s ‘Mulan,'” the tweet read.

The singer shared how grateful and happy she was to have this “full circle moment.” “When I was a young girl, the first song I ever got to sing on my own in front of an audience was ‘Reflection’ from Disney’s ‘Mulan.’ And now, almost 18 years later, I get to sing it in front of the world,” wrote Dela Torre on Instagram. “I can’t even begin to describe how honored I feel to have been chosen to sing my own rendition of ‘Reflection,’ not just because it’s one of the most beloved Disney songs, but because of how meaningful it has been in my life as an artist.”

Dela Torre is the second Filipino to sing an official version of “Reflection.” The first was Lea Salonga, who offered her singing voice to the original animated film.

Disney has tapped other Filipino singers in the past to sing localized versions of songs like Iñigo Pascual (“Coco”), Janella Salvador (“Moana”) and the duo of Darren Espanto and Morissette Amon (“Aladdin”).

Meanwhile, the live-action “Mulan” encountered multiple controversies before the premiere. Last year, lead actress Liu Yifei came under fire for supporting the Hong Kong police during the pro-democratic protests in the city-state. Fans also expressed concerns on how the remake will be different from the original, citing the exclusion of Mushu and Li Shang.

The film also delayed its premieres in some countries due to the COVID-19 outbreak. However, it seems like the marketing campaign is still ongoing with the release of various versions of the official songs.

So, who’s excited to hear Dela Torre’s “Reflection”?
