When fandoms dream big, anything can happen. On April 29, A’Tin made history with SB19 when the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) announced that the local boy group is among its Top Social Artist finalists this year. The first Filipino artist to enter the category, the boys are the underdogs against music industry giants. They’re going to need all our help to get the win.
WE MADE IT, A'TIN! 🎉
We are nominated for Top Social Artist of this year's Billboard Music Awards!
We are so grateful for your love and support. We wouldn't have come this far without all of you. A'TIN 'TO!

“We made it, A’Tin!” SB19 tweeted last night. “We are so grateful for your love and support. We wouldn’t have come this far without all of you. A’Tin ‘to! Iwawagayway ang watawat!”

Joining SB19 in the list of contenders are Blackpink, BTS, Seventeen and Ariana Grande. (ICYDK, Blackpink and Seventeen are also first-time nominees!) With the other artists having bigger global fandoms, it’s really an impressive feat for SB19 considering how the award is based on fan interactions such as streaming, social engagement and online voting.
With its top-notch content and the support of A’Tin, SB19 beat out a lot of other foreign musicians and proved its global reach. For a bit more context, last year’s roster included Billie Eilish, Exo and Got7—apart from mainstays BTS and Grande.
It is presumed by many that reigning champ BTS will be nabbing the award again. The group has been the Top Social Artist since 2017. So what would it take to break its streak? (We’re big ARMYs but we can’t help but root for our kababayan, too!)
Here’s how you can help SB19 win the fan-voted category:
- Include the official BBMAs hashtag #BBMAsTopSocial and mention @SB19Official in your tweets. Spamming by just posting photos or emojis with the hashtag won’t work so fans recommend tweeting sentences like: I’m voting for @SB19Official for #BBMAsTopSocial. Retweets also count.
- Vote for SB19 on the official voting website. For both platforms, you can only vote 10 times per day.
We're so excited to be a finalist for Top Social Artist at the @BBMAs!
Just tweet @SB19Official + #BBMAsTopSocial and/or visit https://t.co/RGqFcgEI7u to vote up to 10 times per day, per platform.

Bonus: Votes using private accounts on Twitter don’t count. You’ll also need at least 100 followers on your account to be eligible.
For BTS’ first win, #BTSBBMAS was tweeted more than 300 million times. Imagine how much that number must have grown over the years for them to keep the Top Social Artist title. Are you ready to get SB19 to the top?
