Ever since Janella Salvador debuted her Valentina look in a gorgeous green slit dress, we’ve been looking forward to seeing her serve more chic looks. Salvador gave us another taste of Valentina’s style during the grand media conference for the upcoming “Mars Ravelo’s Darna” series held at the Dolphy Theater yesterday, Aug. 8. She’s giving dangerous woman and not just because of the snake wrapped around her arm.

The actress, who bagged the role of the show’s Serpent Queen antagonist, did a cat walk on the red carpet in an all-black off-the-shoulder two-piece bodysuit. She rocked blonde face-framing highlights and, to the horror and delight of those present, had a living and breathing python hanging onto her arm. She’s serving a classic villainess look (like Catwoman or Cruella) with a touch of old Hollywood glam. In contrast, the show’s “Darna” Jane De Leon wore an equally sophisticated all-white suit.
By now, we’ve had a number of peeks into Regina and her alter ego Valentina’s wardrobe. From the trailer that introduced her as a feisty vlogger and brilliant lawyer, we also saw how the character favors a more classic chic style. And not to be a Team Valentina simp, but we can already see ourselves tuning in partly because we want to see her looks.
Salvador expressed that she feels a bit of pressure in taking on a role previously played by actresses like Celia Rodriguez. “We all know how iconic the role of Valentina is. Knowing that the previous Valentinas were all so amazing and the character became iconic because of the way they portrayed it, of course I want to make it my own. At the same time, gusto ko tumatak siya. Nandoon ‘yung pressure,” she said.
“It’s the first major role after I gave birth, kaya pinag-isipan ko talaga if kaya ko ba iportray ang isang iconic villain na si Valentina. Pero when I read the script, I told myself, why not,” Salvador adds.
“Mars Ravelo’s Darna” will premiere online and on primetime TV on Aug. 15. We will be seated.
