On a Roll: Let These Essential Oils Lift Your Mood

The other day I came home with a splitting headache. The kind where even sleep doesn’t help. Before taking a pain killer my mom suggested I try this essential oil roller she’s been using. So, i rubbed the oil on my temples and it worked. Not instantly, but it worked. She also gave me another blend that works for allergic rhinitis.

Like everyone else, I have a bag of medicines that I rely on. Painkillers, allergy medicine, etc. As much as these are recommended, it is sometimes better to find other remedies before resorting to these. And essential oils are safe alternatives. Depending on the type of blend you get, it can help with pain, muscle tightness, and even your mood. It is important to note, however, that you should consult your doctors first. If you want to try a topical treatment for some these, check out these essential oils.

Pili Beauty Rise & Shine Blend

Keep this bottle of essential oil on your work desk and use it when you need a pick-me-up. In the middle of the day or right after lunch, our energy level starts to drop so this is a quick solution. This blend “refreshes, promotes positive mood, and restores focus.” Just rub a small amount on your palms and inhale the vapor. Available at Rustan’s Makati.

Human Nature Orange Oil

Cure tummy aches with a few drops of Human Nature’s orange oil. Just swipe a few strokes on your stomach and you should feel it starting to work. As the bottle suggests it is “liquid sunshine” that has a sweet and tangy scent that is warm and comforting. Available online.

Organature.Co Headache Reliever (Relieve and Restore)

Is staring at a computer screen all day giving you headaches? Take a break and apply this reliever oil on your temples. This will also help you relax, reduce inflammation, and muscle spasms. It will also improve blood flow to the brain so you can keep on working worry-free. Available online.

Beryl Lavender Essential Oil

Don’t let life’s stresses get the better of you. Take a breather and have this essential oil on hand. This is made of 100 percent pure lavender oil which will soothe and calm the mind. It can also help you sleep better and improve blood circulation. Rub a small amount on your skin before you sleep or when you need some help relaxing. Available on Beauty MNL.

V&M Lemongrass Essential Oil

If you feel tense after a workout, don’t forget to stretch but this essential oil might help. This is usually used to relax muscles in massage oils. The aroma of this oil also acts as a stress-reliever. Available online.

dōTerra Petal Diffuser + dōTerra Breathe Respiratory Blend

Another way to use essential oils is with a diffuser. This is an ideal option to sue for when you’re sleeping. dōTerra’s petal diffuser is great for nighttime use since is disperses a far-reaching mist. For this diffuser you can use one of their essential oil blends like Breathe. It promotes a restful sleep and maintains the feeling of clear airways. Available online.

SmileyDaisy Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser + Juju Aroma Eucalyptus Essential Oil

If you really want to keep the good vibes going, keep a diffuser on your desk. Like this one from SmileyDaisy. It comes in a red color and has a floral design. For this, use a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil. It will act as an odor remover, air cleanser, and helps with colds and flus. Available online.
