“Ice rolling has become something that I do every single morning! It helps SO much with inflammation and puffiness in the under eye area. It’s something quick & easy that you can do to prep your face for the day! I’ve also noticed that it helps with redness if you’re dealing with a breakout. It’s safe to say I’m obsessed!” —@taylor_lovee (Photo: Pinterest)
Jade rolling quickly became a staple in many people’s skincare routine. I know I have seen so many Instagram Story Boomerangs of my friends using their favorite crystal roller on their face. If you were one of these people, you’ll probably want to try out an ice roller.
It uses a similar concept as crystal rollers except they have detachable heads made of different materials like stainless steel or gel and water. This is suggested to be used on the face and body and has a lot of benefits.
Using it in an upward and outward motion can calm inflammation, reduce swelling and puffiness, aid in lymphatic drainage, increase blood flow, soothe redness and irritation, and brighten under-eye circles. Like I said, you can also use it on your body to calm redness after waxing, soothe bug bites, calm sore muscles, and even help get rid of headaches.
Having an ice roller is a great and convenient way to do the ice cube facial without the mess of melting ice cubes, you can even bring this with you when you travel. All you have to do is leave it in the freezer for a few minutes and get rolling. If you want one for yourself—I’m mostly getting one soon–here are some options to check out.
Shimmer Beauty Ice Roller
If you follow Martine Cajucom, Solenn Heussaff, and Jess Wilson, you’ve probably seen this ice roller. This one has a metal head that gets cool to the touch. Martine suggests using it after traveling and Jess rolls this on her face after a late night out. Available on Instagram.
Vanity Planet Facial Ice Roller
This one has a detachable stainless steel head and can stay cold for up to two hours. Aside from the recommendations mentioned earlier, you can use this to soothe bug bites, sunburn, and lessen discomfort after treatments. Available online.
BeautiMate Ice Roller
Aside from the stainless steel heads, there is also this one which is filled with water beads. If you’re in a rush, just keep it in the freezer for at least 15 minutes before using it. Available on Shopee.
Hansderma, Inc. SkinCool Ice Roller
This one also comes with a detachable head, but this time, it is made of a mix of water and gel. Unlike stainless steel, this will feel softer on your skin, although it doesn’t stay as cool for a long period of time. Available on Amazon.
