PSA: You can’t fight fat-shaming with more fat-shaming

So, the two-part finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians just aired and it focused on the most recent Tristan Thompson cheating drama. In case you haven’t kept up: Back in February, news broke that Tristan cheated on Khloé Kardashian with Kardashian-Jenner family friend, Jordyn Woods. According to several sources, Jordyn was spotted sitting on Tristan’s lap and making out with him at a house party.

The rumors made rounds as Khloé and her friends left comments on several posts addressing the issue. Khloé later spoke out about the issue on Instagram Stories via quotes she probably found on IG’s Discover page. Later, Jordyn said her side on Jada Pinkett-Smith’s Red Table Talk where she set the record straight and said Tristan allegedly kissed her out of nowhere.

After the interview aired, Khloé went after Jordyn again, calling her a liar and blaming her for breaking her family up. She later backtracked after 24 hours and said, “Jordyn is not to be blamed for the breakup of my family. This was Tristan’s fault.”

Why are you lying @jordynwoods ?? If you’re going to try and save yourself by going public, INSTEAD OF CALLING ME PRIVATELY TO APOLOGIZE FIRST, at least be HONEST about your story. BTW, You ARE the reason my family broke up!

What’s been harder & more painful is being hurt by someone so close to me. Someone whom I love & treat like a little sister. But Jordyn is not to be blamed for the breakup of my family. This was Tristan’s fault.

So far, there are no major news regarding the cheating drama other than the speculations it was staged for KUWTK‘s latest season. On the other hand, it’s only right that both Khloé and Jordyn are free from Tristan, who already cheated once in the past.

Fast forward to earlier this week, the drama is back on everyone’s timelines as the KUWTK finale showed how Khloé reacted to the news. The most intense scene was during a drunken conversation with Tristan’s good friend, Savas Oguz. Khloé was so mad that she was screaming “Liar!!!” and F-bombs at the phone, and also seemingly called both Jordyn and Tristan “fat f*cking a**holes.”

Many have said Khloé should be excused because she was drunk and angry. But that still doesn’t give her pass to call Jordyn “fat.” This didn’t sit well with viewers of the show, especially since the reality star is an advocate for self-love and has opened up about being fat-shamed in the past. Sure, her show Revenge Body is kinda problematic (PSA: you don’t need to change your body to appease someone’s skewed perception of you), what she went through in the past was sh*tty. No one should ever be told they look “fat” just because they don’t fit a certain beauty standard.

That said, people are now bringing back the fact Khloé used to be labelled as “the fat sister” and posting her old photos. Some have also resorted to comparing her with Jordyn, saying Khloé never be as beautiful as her.

Khloe Kardashian is really out here fat shaming Jordyn Woods. Bitches lose weight and forget where they came from. #KUWTK pic.twitter.com/pX6Bwr406G

Khloe Kardashian-Simpson called Jordyn fat ??? Did sis forget she looks like she got 22 tackles and 7 assists with her linebacker built ass ? Did Miss Kardashian-Simpson simply forget that on her best day she still looks like a badly built ant ? But wanna call Jordyn faaaaaattt ? pic.twitter.com/M6bcyPEoRs

What Khloé said was definitely out of line and she should have never fat-shamed Jordyn. We’re disappointed as well since she is someone who’s encouraged people to love their bodies, and even starting a denim brand that caters to all body types. It also sucks that it was caught on camera and millions of people saw it months after it happened.

However, what’s not right is continuing the cycle of fat-shaming by insulting Khloé and her body. You can call her out for her bad behavior, but you don’t have to put her down while hyping up Jordyn. We’re going to sound like a broken record here, but both of them are beautiful and are going through their own sets of struggles—not just physically, as you can see in the finale.

It also seems that people are aware of Khloé’s many self-love advices, but they’re not heeding it. Just because someone looks different now doesn’t mean the insults don’t matter anymore. Also, people need to stop using derogatory words like “fat” to measure someone’s beauty and worth. A person is more than their body and being a certain size doesn’t make you ugly—stop adhering to society’s standards of beauty.

As of writing, Khloé hasn’t addressed the criticisms against her. What we do know is she’s already in the process of moving on from her unfaithful baby daddy—she said so MONTHS before the show aired. On the other hand, Jordyn and her BFF, Kylie Jenner are reportedly trying to mend their friendship after the debacle. But it seems this finale just re-fuelled the feud.

Remember that both Khloé and Jordyn are victims of Tristan’s misbehaving. The cheating drama may have happened months ago, but he shouldn’t be given another free pass for what he did. And we hope people would stop pitting two women against each other because this isn’t about who’s “fat” or more beautiful. .

If you hate the fat-shaming Khloé did, then you should know better than to do the same to her. Period.
