After seeing sketches of potential wedding dresses for Meghan Markle and the official engagement photos with Prince Harry, we couldn’t wait for more details about the wedding. According to Refinery29, more information has been revealed. Breaking tradition, Meghan wants her mother Doria Ragand to walk her down the aisle.
This might not seem all that unconventional for a normal wedding but for a royal wedding, “a woman escorting the bride down the aisle is kind of a big deal,” they add.
So why this break from tradition? Meghan is estranged from her father. Her half brother Thomas Markle Jr. did offer to walk her down the aisle but they have not spoken in years. Thomas told the Daily Mail, “I didn’t go to her last [wedding] in Jamaica, I was working or something. But if my dad doesn’t walk her down the aisle, then I will.”
Thomas may be eager to walk his sister down the aisle but we would love to see her mother give her away. What do you think?
