You Don’t Need a Margarita to Get This Drunk Flush

By Jacqueline Ariason January 12, 2018

One Japanese makeup trick that’s catching up recently is the “drunk blush technique.” This trick basically gives you that natural flush when you have a few drinks. This is also part of their hangover makeup looks which include reddish under eyes and greased-up hair.

This technique is done on the area of the under eye and the cheekbones. You can either use a cheek tint or blush on its own, or combine them depending on how intense you want it. In the past, we noticed how celebrities like Sarah Lahbati and Ellen Adarna have been loving the natural pink flush effect. This is a more subtle version of a drunk blush.

For a more reddish hue, Kryz Uy recently posted a tutorial on it.

Do you want to try this trick for yourself? Check out the products below to create your own drunk blush look.

Lancome Cushion Blush Subtil

Kryz swears by this product for a natural drunk flush. You just need to tap the product on your skin and build it up as much as you’d like. Aside from its pigmented color, this blush also boosts your skin’s hydration and has a cooling effect. Available on Net-a-Porter.

Cargo Swimmables Water Resistant Blush

This Cargo blush has a berry hue to it, so be sure to apply this with a light hand. It’s also water-resistant so you don’t need to worry about it melting off under the sun or rain. Available at Beauty Bar.

Benefit Cha Cha Tint

Coral hues can complement tanned skin. The Cha Cha Tint is a liquid-gel formula that’s easy to blend out. It will brighten up your complexion and the color can last all day. Available at SM Megamall.

Milk Makeup Lip + Cheek

For quick application, just swipe on this product on your cheeks and blend it in with a sponge. This will give you a sheer tint, perfect for no-makeup days or natural makeup looks. Available on Calyxta.

TonyMoly Panda’s Dream Dual Lip & Cheek

This comes with a matte blush and a glossy lip product. The Bubble Red duo has an orange-based red blush which will give you a bright flush. It’s also rich in antioxidants from camellia oil and other flower extracts. Plus, it’s in a cute panda compact! Available at Glorietta 2.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Diffused Heat

If you want a blush and highlighter in one, opt for this one from Hourglass. It’s a lightweight blush with pearlescent pigments that’ll give your skin a natural glow. Diffused Heat is the perfect medium-tone pink that can complement any skin tone. Available on Sephora PH.
