Is anyone else starting to feel the summer heat? These past few days I noticed that the sun is shining a little bit brighter and there isn’t that much wind passing through. And then someone pointed out that it was already summer so everything made sense.
Not being in school anymore makes me forget when summer starts. We might not have an actual break these next few months but that doesn’t mean you can’t prepare for what the season has to offer. To officially kick-start your summer festivities, check out our to-do list below.
Apply everything SPF
Yes, it’s important that you apply sunblock every day but this step is even more important during the summer. If you’re not sure how often you should be reapplying sunblock, check out these six rules. SPF isn’t just present in sunblock, however, you can also find lip balm, moisturizer, and eye creams enriched with SPF.
Wear breezy fabric
Not only is it going to get hotter but it’s most likely going to be even more humid too. One way to prevent sweating, or at least stay cool in the heat, is by wearing breathable fabric. Whether you’re at an outdoor event or walking to and from work, throw on an outfit that’s light and comfortable. Go for fabrics like linen, cotton, and chambray.
Have sunglasses with you
Keep your peepers protected from the sun with a pair of sunglasses. This can also be your staple summer accessory. Depending on your outfit and where you’re going, throw on the appropriate pair. Get a pair of tinted lenses or frames that are little more futuristic.
Plan a beach trip
Take advantage of the heat and plan a trip to the beach. Enjoy getting a tan, surfing, and spending time with your friends and family. Don’t forget to pack these lounging essentials or get some inspiration from your favorite celebrities.
Embrace dewy skin
Yes, you’re going to sweat a lot so might as well embrace how dewy your skin is going to look. Ditch the matte-finish and use products that are more glossy. Pat on liquid highlighter for a natural glow and swipe on some high shine lip gloss for the full effect.
