The Met Gala 2018 Dress Trains that Went on For Days

You’ve seen the over-the-top headdresses at this year’s Met Gala. Now let’s talk about the best and longest trains that graced the entry way of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. As mentioned, this year’s theme is “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination,” which allowed guests to come in their best religion-inspired ensembles. Some of them will make you think, “How did they walk without stepping on them and falling on their butts?” If you missed the red carpet event, we listed down our favorite ensembles so you can ogle at them too.

Amal Clooney

Amal wore a floral Richard Quinn gown with a round train. She and husband George Clooney even joked that they hid their twins under the skirt.

Emilia Clarke

For a minute there, everyone thought Emilia transformed into Daenerys because of her outfit. She wore a black and gold floor-sweeping gown that was adorned with portraits of cherubs.

Blake Lively

Blake went for a wine-colored Versace gown with silver and gold embroidery. The design on her train reminds us of tree branches stretching out across the floor.

Nicki Minaj

Looking deadly in all-red was Nicki who opted for an Oscar de la Renta ensemble. She told E! News that she wanted to play the sinful side of this year’s theme. “I’m the bad guy and I wanted to make sure the bad guy was here,” she said.

Zendaya

Zendaya’s Versace gown was inspired by Joan of Arc, complete with silver chainmail and a short wig. She also had a shimmery cape that sweeped the floor as she walked.

Priyanka Chopra

Priyanka’s Met Gala look is reminiscent of a medieval knight, especially with her bejeweled headpiece that’s similar to chainmail. Her strapless Ralph Lauren gown had a velvet train, making her look even more regal.

Kate Bosworth

We may have the wedding dress of our dreams thanks to Kate Bosworth. She wore a white Oscar de la Renta piece complete with a flowy train and a veil.

Diane Kruger

It’s so satisfying to see Diane walk up the stairs for everyone to see the ruffles on her back and the sky blue train. What a queen!

Ming Xi

Ming Xi stood out in a bubblegum pink gown. It looks glossy too, making the train look like a bubble as she moved.

Lena Waith

Lena made a statement by arriving with a floor-length rainbow cape to represent the LGBTQ+ community. “I’ve got the community on my back to make sure they know I’ve got them all the time. The theme to me is, like, ‘Be yourself,’” she told The New York Times. “You were made in God’s image, right?”

Hailey Baldwin

Hailey went for an all-white dress with a thigh-high slit and a train that’s like a mile long. She completed the look with a flower crown and Shawn Mendes.

Janelle Monae

Janelle put away her vagina pants and wore Marc Jacobs for the Met Gala. She wore a black and white gown and train of the same color, and topped it with a gold leather headpiece to mimic a halo.

Cardi B

Aside from her eye-catching headdress, Cardi B also turned heads with her bejeweled gown with an ivory white train.

SZA

The singer showed up in a baby pink Versace gown with ruffles for days. Her train made it look like she’s walking on clouds, especially with the halo accessory.

Amber Heard

Another lady in red, Amber wore a backless Carolina Herrera piece.

Sarah Jessica Parker

SJP was dressed in head-to-toe gold complete with an elaborate headpiece. Just like the rest of her gown, her train had intricate embroidery with red hearts.
