The best flights to book during PAL’s seat sale

In case you’re living under a rock, Philippine Airlines has a huge seat sale for their 78th anniversary starting today until March 10. This means you can avail one-way domestic flights for a promotional base rate of P78, as well as round-trip international flights for $78. The travel period will be from March 16 to Dec. 31, 2019.

According to PAL vice-president for sales Ryan Uy, there will be over 2 million seats available during the promo period. But since you’re reading this in the evening, they might be selling out hella fast.

There’s still hope though! If you’re looking at the list of flights and trying to choose the best purchase for your budget, don’t worry. I’m also checking them out and asking my friends (especially those who are well-traveled) the same question. So far, here are the trips that, we feel, will spark joy in us and our wallets. (Note: These low prices are for Economy, and you also have to take into consideration the additional taxes and expenses while booking a flight. Plus, some will include layovers.)

Bacolod

How much? P878

Aside from the chicken inasal and napoleones, tourists often schedule their flights by October so they can witness the Masskara Festival. This is a month-long celebration filled with fiestas and food, and the parade will happen on the last week of October.

Puerto Princesa

How much? P978

Moira Dela Torre and Shay Mitchell both made us jealous of their Palawan trips. If you felt the same, head to Puerto Princesa to see the bea hes and even go island hopping. You can also take a van to El Nido for the full experience.

Kalibo

How much? P1,178

Boracay’s back in business, you know what that means? Beach trip! This summer’s the right time to experience the white sand and the all-night parties of Bora. But before you get there, you have to get a ticket to Kalibo first.

Legazpi

How much? P1,178

I don’t mean to be biased because I have family in Legazpi, Albay and I’ve been there several times. But people are not lying when they say that the Mayon Volcano is a must-see. I mean, didn’t Catriona Gray’s dress and lava walk convince you enough?

Siargao

How much? P1,178 from Clark Air Base

Siargao is another beach destination that you shouldn’t dare pass up. For the past two years, many people, including celebrities, have been raving about this island. It’s also a surf spot in case you didn’t know (or haven’t seen Paul Soriano’s movie starring Jericho Rosales.)

Hong Kong

How much? $78 (P4,033.38)

There’s a lot to explore in the bustling city of Hong Kong. You can go to Victoria Peak, hunt down popular food spots, or feel like a kid again at Disneyland.

Singapore

How much? $98 (P5,067.58)

Feel like you’re in Crazy Rich Asians in SG. You can take tourist photos with the Merlion fountains and the Petronas Towers. I heard the many hawker stands have excellent food too.

Bali

How much? $148 (P7,653.45)

If you missed the peak hype and influx of Bali post last year, it’s okay. It’s still considered a hot destination for beach lovers and surfers. If you want a primer on what you can do and where to go in Bali, check out our article here.

Tokyo

How much? $188 (P9,721.95) going to Narita Airport

Tokyo is the place to be if you love bustling streets, good food, and a whole lot of locations to go to. Plus, you can always take the bullet train going to other corners of Japan from here.

London

How much? $598 (P30,924.08)

Live out your royal dreams here in London. All you need is just one day to stroll the city. Don’t believe us? Here’s a guide.
